Northeast India is not just known for its divine aura of purity and serenity, but also for its stunning beauty queens. And the latest name to join the glamour wagon is Miss India 2016 Priyadarshini Chatterjee.
Born and brought up in Guwahati, Assam and currently studying at the reputed Hindu College in Delhi University, Priyadarshini is the first northeastern to win the crown. She is now preparing to represent the country at Miss World 2016.
Other Northeastern faces who have ruled the ramp:
Hailing from Assam, Dipannita Sharma grabbed eyes after making it to the final 5 at Miss India in 1998. She put the ramp on fire with Indian and international designers and was the worldwide face of Breguet watches and jewellery. She also acted in films like 16 December, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Jodi Breakers. Dipannita did her bit for the wild by featuring in a jaw-dropping PETA ad.
Paris is where this Northeastern stunner started her supermodel career. Originally from Guwahati, Monikangana Dutta walked the ramp for fashion designers like Vivienne Westwood, Yoji Yamamoto, Christian Dior, Leonard, and Chloe. She has stolen the shows at Paris Fashion Week, India Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Australian Fashion Week with her exotic look. Once a face of Mac Cosmetics, Monikangana appeared in editorials for Vogue, Elle, Tank Magazine and Italian Harper’s Bazaar.
Known to the fashion world as Leno, the Naga chick Ketholeno Kense might be soft-spoken but her attitude on the runway speaks out loudly for itself. Leno is the winner of Kingfisher Supermodels Hunt 2014 and since then hasn’t looked back. She has been on the cover of Elle magazine and has walked at numerous fashion weeks.
Good going girls!
