Waluscha De Sousa Makes a Fantastic Bollywood Debut

She became the nation’s sweetheart already with her music video Vinchoo Chawla and now Waluscha De Sousa makes her Bollywood debut with none other than Shah Rukh Khan.  Though this is not the first time this leggy lass is working with the Kind, he previously worked with him in her first ever TV commercial for Pepsi when she was just 17. And a few years later, she once again featured with Shah Rukh in a Hyundai car commercial.

In her latest film, Fan, she plays Shah Rukh Khan’s wife and the beauty couldn’t have asked for a much better opening than this one. Waluscha, who hails from Goa, was discovered by ace designer Wendell Rodricks at the tender age of 16, when she was in her school uniform. She then went on to do shows for leading designers of the country and subsequently took part in the Miss India pageant where she secured herself the ‘Miss Body Beautiful’ title.

Waluscha is a mother of 3 kids – Chanel, Brooklyn and Sienna. We hope to see more of this yummy mummy on the silver screen.

Our Nerdy Rajesh Koothrappali Turns 35 today

Known for his ‘brain-blowing’ role as Rajesh Koothrappali in the popular TV series The Big Bang Theory, Kunal Nayyar is one man who had walked miles and miles to earn his reputation. Today on his birthday, team Tittle Tattle wishes him many more big bangs!

The British-Indian actor was born to a Punjabi family in London and raised in New Delhi. With schooling in India and university in the US, Nayyar has perfectly blended his experiences of both the worlds through his acting skills. His unique accent is his key strength.

Nayyar’s book ‘Yes, My Accent Is Real’ which narrates his journey to the top of the acting industry has received ample accolades. Nayyar was third on Forbes list of World’s Highest-Paid TV Actors for 2015.

We surely love Nayyar as the astrophysicist in The Big Bang Theory but here are some more interesting projects he has been a part of:

  • The first very eye-grabbing role for Nayyar was in the West Coast production of Rajiv Joseph’s 2006 play Huck & Holden where he played an Indian exchange student in America.
  • That very year, Nayyar wrote a play Cotton Candy along with Areun Das which premiered in New Delhi. The response was highly appreciable.
  • In one of the episodes of Suspicion, Nayyar made a guest appearance as an Iraqi terrorist named Youssef Zidan.
  • Nayyar’s first film is Salman Khan’s production Cabbie.
  • Last year, Nayyar performed in an off-Broadway production The Spoils where he played Kalyan, a Nepalese student.

Sunny Leone Turns Angel for PETA

Sunny Leone_AngelAdopt_REVFIN300

With an infectious smile on her face and posing next to rescued dog Kaali from the Welfare of Stray Dogs, Sunny Leone appears in a new PETA ad with the caption “Be an Angel for Animals! Adopt a Dog From the Street or a Shelter”. Leone, whose new film One Night Stand will be coming out, wants to draw her fans’ attention to the plight of dogs waiting for loving homes in animal shelters, as well as those suffering on the street. She knows adoption, not buying, is key to fighting the worldwide crisis of animal homelessness. The stunning campaign was shot by leading photographer Gaurav Sawn, and Leone’s hair and make-up were done by Ayesha Wadiwala.

“I believe in not buying – and adopting … because there are so many dogs out there [who] need a home, [who] were left on the streets”, says Leone. “If you can rescue an animal, then that’s one of the greatest gifts you can give somebody.”

Right now, homeless cats and dogs all across India are fighting for their lives. With only scraps to eat, many go hungry. Others are killed by vehicles, sustain broken bones and wounds that become infected, or are abused by cruel people. Countless more wait in animal shelters because there aren’t enough good homes for them.

PETA and Leone also promote sterilisation of companion animals. Sterilisation is a routine, affordable surgery that can prevent thousands of animals from being born only to suffer and struggle to survive on the streets, be abused by cruel or neglectful people, or end up in animal shelters. Just one unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in six years. In seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce 370,000 kittens. Sterilising eliminates the stress and discomfort that females endure during heat and greatly reduces the risk of developing mammary cancer. It also makes males far less likely to roam or fight.

This is not Leone’s first ad for PETA – she previously starred in PETA’s animal birth control campaign. She has a lead role in the forthcoming movie Beiimaan Love and will be seen shaking a leg with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees.

This Vid of Foreigners Dancing to Maahi Ve Will Make Your Day

Bollywood dancing is becoming a cool dance trending across many countries worldwide. There is hardly any country in the world that has not heard of Bollywood dancing. On the occasion of World Dance Day, we talked to Kriti Sachdeva who teaches Bollywood Dancing in the UK.

Here’s what she told us:

Bollywood Dancing Burns 550 Calories Per Hour!

One of the biggest reasons why people come to my Bollywood dance class is because it is the most fun way to workout. One Bollywood dance class burns 550 calories which is equal to walking for 4 kilometers and 6000 steps! I measured with Fitbit.

Anu Mallick’s Chunnari Chunnari is a Hit!

bollywwod dance pic

Ladies who come to my dance classes love dancing to ‘Chunnari Chunnari’ and we literally dance with chunnaris (scarves). It is amazing how many dance moves you can do using scarf as a prop!

More Foreigners than Indians

My classes have always had very few Indians for some reason. Most of my students are foreigners – ladies in the age group of 25-60. My oldest student is a 70-years-old great grandmother.

When the Mayor of Ely Danced to Bollywood Tunes

My dance classes in Ely (a lovely town in the UK) got so famous that we organized a ‘Bollywood Dance Fair’ where even the Mayor flaunted some thumkas with us!

Here is a video from the Bollywood Dance Fair where you can see my students dancing on Maahi ve from Kal Ho Na Ho

OMG! This Drought Affected Village Never Faces Water-Scarcity Crisis

Hiware 1

Falling under the drought prone zone of Maharashtra, the village Hiware Bazar in Ahmednagar district fought all odds and emerged as a water conservator.

There was a time when Hiware Bazar faced major water scarcity but not until 1990 when the village used government funds to regenerate its natural resources. Soon the village had a system in place to conserve water. This system included rainwater harvesting, digging trenches around hills, afforestation and building percolation tanks.

The farmers in the village replaced excess water-absorbing sugarcane and bananas with vegetables, fruits and pulses that requires a lesser amount of water.

Having mentioned in PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme, this village is self-sufficient and not a single household is below the poverty line. In fact, more than 60 families are millionaires here.

An alcohol free village, it surely sets a strong example for other parts of rural India.

Just wondering if they would let in an immigrant like me! Who wouldn’t want to stay in this village.

Diana Penty: From Playing Coy to Free-Spirited

Actress Diana Penty who was last seen as a sweet and mellow character Meera in Cocktail will be seen playing the character of a free spirited girl called Happy in her next film Happy Bhaag Jayegi.

Supermodel turned actress Diana Penty who made a sensational debut as Meera, a quintessential simple soft spoken Indian girl with traditional values in Cocktail seems to have ensured she surprises her fans and audience at large with her newest on-screen avatar. She plays the title role of Happy in Aanand L Rai’s Happy Bhaag Jayegi (HBJ). She is all set to prove to her fans that their wait to see her on screen is worthwhile with her over-the-top, bubbly character – Happy.

“Produced by Aanand Rai and directed by Mudazzar Aziz, HBJ will showcase a whole new Diana – a complete contrast to her character in Cocktail” says an insider source. “Happy is fun, talkative, loud and extrovert gal who’s not afraid to take risks and live life large. It’s evidently far from who Diana really is – an urban, cool yet sweet and soft spoken Parsi Catholic girl. What’s great is that despite the polarity, Diana is believed to have given a rather convincing performance and has earned a lot of praise from industrywallas who’ve got rushes of the film” elaborates the source.

It does seem like she has totally immersed herself in the character of Happy with élan and now it seems uncanny that her crew now associate her on screen persona with the real deal. Well done, Lady D!

Major Worry! Brazil’s Loopholes Flash Ahead of Rio Olympics

While the wait for the world’s biggest sports event, the Olympic Games, is shrinking as days pass by, Brazil is in serious worry now. So many factors have drowned into the country that hosting such a prestigious affair seems like a risk.

Economy at Stake!

With less than 100 days to go, Brazil’s economy is in a total fix. The Brazilian currency has lost 40% of its value as compared to the dollar. Moreover, 2016 will be the third consecutive year when the government couldn’t pay back creditors. This is the worst economic crisis that Brazil has faced since 1930s.

Dirty Water

Water bodies that will source the Olympic competitions are polluted with raw sewage. It is definitely not in a condition for athletes to use. Does that mean sailors and swimmers have to start wearing anti-pollution masks now?

The creepy Zika virus

The mosquito-borne disease Zika, which is transmitted from pregnant women to the fetus, has caught more than 1.5 million people in Brazil last year. WHO estimates an increase in Zika cases by the end of 2016.

Zika virus has already reduced Brazil tourism and with the upcoming Olympics, it is a serious concern. However, Brazil President Dilma Rousseff has announced that her government is working on a Zika virus vaccine.

Poor Infrastructure

Brazil is facing various infrastructural challenges like delayed stadium construction and transportation issues.

Brazil is working its ass out to sort its crisis situation and use this golden opportunity to play host to the grand Olympic Games. We just hope things go well on both sides of the court!

One Mistake in First Episode of Game of Thrones Season 6 You Didn’t Notice

After a long wait of a year, Game of Thrones Season 6 is finally on air. All the excitement, the curiosity and butterflies have found justice with the smashing first episode of our most loved TV series.

But did you notice something which ‘if you use logic’ didn’t make sense? In one scene where Lord Tyrion and Varys walk around Meereen, they come across a wall that has the words “Kill the Masters. Mhysa is a Master.”

Well, what we understand so far is that the local people of Meereen don’t understand English. In fact Tyrion seems to be having a tough time to communicate with the locals. Then how come the words on the wall are in English? I’m sure the locals can’t write English either if they can’t speak!

Or is there someone from the Meereenese who is pretending not to know English but actually does. We surely will welcome another twist in GOT!

Rana Daggubatti Kick-starts Training for Baahubali 2

Promises to be bigger, meaner and deadlier!

After completing some high octane, never-before-seen underwater action sequences for his tri-lingual film Ghazi, the hunky actor Rana Daggubati has started training heavily for Baahubali 2. After losing weight for his submarine based war film Ghazi where he essays the role a naval officer, Rana has been bulking up to reprise his role of Bhallaladeva in Baahubali 2.

Ask him about what he has been doing to reshape his body and bulk up? Rana states, “To gain fat, you need to sit around and eat. But I needed to gain muscle, which is a difficult, scientific process. The hardest part is sticking to the routine of a strict diet and vigorous training for months in a disciplined way.” He also adds that he finds losing weight easier than bulking up. “I had to just reduce my protein intake for Ghazi so my muscle size and weight dropped” he signs off.
